The donations and support received in 2025 were used in a concrete way to save lives in Benin:
1 electric scalpel
1 recovery room ventilator
30 women operated on (in 5 days) whose lives have been radically improved…
their LIVES saved
The three HFR surgeons are leaving today with the satisfaction of a job well done.
They will no doubt return next year for a new collaboration with their colleagues in Benin.

IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CANTONAL HOSPITAL OF FRIBOURG AND SWISS MEDICAL INITIATIVE
On Monday, February 23, 2026, a new light will shine on Benin:
The New Life Polyclinic, in partnership with the Fribourg Cantonal Hospital (HFR) and the Swiss Medical Initiative foundation,
is launching a gynecological mission that transcends borders and distances.
This is not just a medical operation, it is a march of solidarity, a helping hand extended to women whose health bears the scars of silence and waiting.

With the support of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Fribourg Cantonal Hospital,
the Swiss Medical Initiative Foundation and The New Life Polyclinic in Djérègbé (Benin) are co-organizing a humanitarian surgical mission from
February 21 to 27, 2026.
30 patients from disadvantaged backgrounds will benefit from a five-day surgical program including:
Myomectomies, Kystectomies, Hystérectomies and removal of benign breast tumors
They will enjoy a better quality of life…
This humanitarian mission is also an opportunity for Swiss gynecologists and their Beninese counterparts to share their skills and expertise.
